Police say 28-year-old Michelle Davis, of Newark, was trying to cross the eastbound lanes of Old Baltimore Pike near Trefoil Drive when she was hit by a minivan.
Investigators say Davis had just gotten off a DART bus with a friend and was dressed in dark clothing.
Davis was rushed to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Neither the driver of the minivan, 37-year-old Busurat Adesanya of Newark, nor Davis' friend were hurt, police say.
The crash remains under investigation.
