NJ street gang leader gets more prison time

TRENTON, N.J. - February 5, 2012

The five-year term handed down to Robert "Snoop" Christie of Trenton will run consecutive to an eight-year sentence he's now serving for drug and weapons offenses. He also will not be eligible for parole.

The 25-year-old Christie pleaded guilty last June to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Prosecutors say Christie was a leader of the Nine Trey Gangsters set of the Bloods when they feuded with other gangs in the summer of 2005.

The violent clashes left three people dead, including a 22-year-old woman killed when gang members targeted a car they mistakenly thought was occupied by a high-ranking member of Christie's gang faction.
