Authorities say a Cadillac heading northbound ignored construction signs and crashed into a crane around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Two workers on the bridge were hurt, but they're expected to recover from their injuries.
The driver, who is 32-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are trying to figure out why the driver entered the bridge, because it was closed at the time of the crash.
The bridge remained closed for several hours following the crash while crews worked to remove a crane that was struck in the accident.
Traffic has since reopened on the bridge.
