NORTH PHILADELPHIA - February 6, 2012

Timothy Ballard, 33, of the 900 block of West Erie Avenue in North Philadelphia, surrendered to police on Wednesday February 1st. He is being charged with robbery and other offenses.

Ballard and Kevin Wilson, 27, also of North Philadelphia, were sought in connection with five armed holdups that took place within 90 minutes of each other on November 30, 2011.

In each case, police say the suspects approached victims on the street, brandished a handgun and demanded money and other valuables.

The robberies all took place near the Temple University campus in North Philadelphia.

Wilson turned himself in on December 5, 2011, three days after pictures of Wilson and Ballard were circulated in media outlets including Action News and 6abc.com.

Police are thanking the media and several members of the public who provided anonymous tips through 911 for making the arrests possible.
