Poll: NJ Gov. Christie remains popular at home

TRENTON, N.J. - February 7, 2012

The Monmouth University/NJ Press Media Poll released Tuesday finds Christie's job approval rating at 52 percent among all residents and 55 percent among registered voters. But nearly half of the respondents say Christie's more concerned with his political future than with running New Jersey.

The numbers are basically unchanged from the last poll in October.

But a gender gap remains. His disapproval rating among men is 33 percent, while 42 percent of women don't like the job he's doing.

The telephone poll of 803 New Jersey adults was conducted from Jan. 31-Feb. 4. It has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
