Goodwill to sell discounted bridal gowns Saturday

PENNSAUKEN, New Jersey - Feb. 10, 2012

And that's just a small sampling of the hundreds of wedding gowns that will be on sale Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Goodwill store in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

This is the fourth year for Goodwill's Valentine's Day bridal sale. And this year, the selection is extra-special, thanks to a donation worth more than $20,000 from a local manufacturer.

Juli Lundberg of Goodwill explains, "It was like Christmas the other morning. We had dozens of boxes from Alfred Angelo, the manufacturer, sending us about 130 gowns. And these are brand new. We've seen sizes from 6 to 26, so we are very grateful to Alfred Angelo.

Some of the Alfred Angelo gowns have suggested retail prices over $1000, but none here will be more than $300. And there are also bridesmaids' gowns in every color -- priced under $50. And dyeable shoes -- originally tagged at $65 or more -- for just $20.

But the biggest draw is, of course, remains the wedding gowns. Last year, brides lined up outside the store starting at 6:00 a.m.

Lundberg says there's a dress for practically any taste. "We have so many different styles, and there are so many different tastes out there. Even vintage gowns are huge right now. We've seeen brides in the past put on a vintage gown that's just perfect for them. So we have the big and puffy gowns, we have a lot of strapless, all different designers. I think there's going to be some really happy brides this year."

The sale starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Goodwill store at 5461 Route 70 in Pennsauken. For more information at the sale, click here.
