Lawrence Municipal Court Judge Kevin Nerwinski told the Lawrence Council it has put a strain on the court system in terms of phone calls and manpower.
The town has issued 1,104 tickets since the red-light camera was installed at the Route 1 and Bakers Basin-Franklin Corner intersection in October. The court has dismissed 932 tickets, leaving only 172 motorists to be fined $140 each.
The Times of Trenton reports the judge told the council the court needs two new computers to handle the business.
