Google wants to pay to track you online - 6at4

/*Google*/, the giant internet search engine, social networking, YouTube owning, tech company has an offer that apparently lots of people found too good to refuse.

It's a program called "Screenwise" that the company says is intended to "improve Google products and services and make a better online experience for everyone."

Google data-crunchers want to gather as much information about how people surf the web, so they're offering $25 to track you online for one year.

You will get a $5 Amazon.com gift card when you sign up. Then, for every 3 months you let Google track your web browsing activity on their Chrome browser, you'll get another $5. According to the Google site, "It's our way of saying 'Thank you.'"

The offer to join the program is currently closed, apparently because early demand was so strong the company reached its target quickly.

Are you willing to let Google track you for a whole year for just $25?
