He wore batman rain boots to school every day. He walked around the house with a cape and full costume.
Now, it's cowboys! At any given moment he wears his cowboy hat, Toy Story cowboy boots and his Sheriff cowboy t-shirt.
I wash the T-shirt every other day, but he literally wears it 7 days a week! At first, we thought it was adorable but now, we're not quite sure!
I read an article by Kristen J. Gough for Babyzone.com. Gough quotes Dr. Susan E. Caudle, PhD, a clinical psychologist at Texas Children's Hospital.
Dr. Caudle says that dressing up is actually a positive sign that your child is developing normally: "It helps a child put himself into someone else's shoes. Identifying with someone else is a job for the frontal lobe of the brain, which is the last part of the brain to fully develop," she said.
That's reassuring, but what happens when your little boy won't take off the dirty cowboy shirt? Dr. Caudle suggests you give your child enough time to wear the dress-up clothes at home and praise him when he changes into normal clothes.
