Officer Dwayne Carter, 25, was arrested after the incident on Saturday, January 21st in the 5500 block of Chester Avenue.
Police say that was where Carter, who was off-duty at the time, was involved in a physical altercation with his wife.
Carter was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey has suspended Carter for thirty days with the intent to dismiss.
Carter has been on the force for four years and was assigned to the 22nd District.
