2 injured in 7-car crash on Interstate 95

WILMINGTON - February 15, 2012

The crash happened around 2:50 p.m. in the southbound lanes about one mile south of Martin Lurther King Boulevard.

Police say 19-year-old Jamia Y. Jackson, of Wilmington, failed to stop for slowed traffic and struck the rear of another car.

That caused a chain-reaction crash that involved another five vehicles.

Two people suffered minor injuries in this crash.

Two right-hand lanes of I-95 SB were closed for about 40 minutes as the crash was investigated and cleared.

Police say charges are expected as a result of this crash.
