Police respond to school bus fight in Logan

LOGAN - February 15, 2012

The incident took place around 5:00 p.m. at 11th Street and Wyoming Avenue.

Officials say a fight erupted aboard a bus carrying students from KIPP Charter School.

Authorities arrived and removed a 12-year-old girl from the bus.

She was placed in a police cruiser.

A medic vehicle also responded to treat two other students.

School officials worked late into the night determining the fate of the students involved.

As of 8:45 p.m., the principal was still in her office going over the incident and the level of involvement by the students.

Jonathan Cetel, Director of Strategic Initiatives, sent Action News the following statement:

At KIPP, we take even the slightest incident of violence very seriously. Right now, our primary concern is ensuring that all of our students arrive home safely. As soon as that happens, we will begin conducting a full investigation into what happened.

Police are also interviewing the students tonight at the 35th district, but thus far, no one has been charged.

There is no word on what sparked the fight.
