It happened around 3:40 p.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of the highway.
Police say an accident involving one tractor-trailer was moving off to the soulder, when it was struck by a passing car.
That car was then struck by another tractor-trailer.
The driver of the vehicle - a woman in her 30s - was taken to Christiana Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The lanes were closed for over two hours but the highway has since reopened.
Police are still investigating.
