Police: teens crashed SUV after trespassing at Delaware high school

GREENVILLE, Del. - February 22, 2012

It began around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Greenville.

Delaware State Police say four teens who were not students were reported trespassing in the halls of A.I. Dupont High School. The teens were confronted by a school employee and asked to leave.

A short time later, at 11:20 a.m., a Jeep Cherokee with four teens inside crashed into a utility pole at Hillside and Valley Green Roads in Greenville.

Witnesses told police they saw three or four males fleeing the accident scene.

Officers began searching the area. At about noon, police found four teenage boys nursing injuries almost two miles from the accident scene, at Centerville and Wayland Roads.

The teens were treated for injuries, questioned, then taken into custody.

An investigation into the incidents continues.
