Rick Williams interviews Miss Piggy & Kermit the Frog

PHILADELPHIA - February 23, 2012 Here is the transcript of Rick's interview with Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, and Thomas Sherak, the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Rick Williams: Let me start with Miss Piggy first. There were reports Miss Piggy that you were going to snub the Oscars this year because you didn't get a Best Actress nomination. What changed your mind? Were you being pigheaded?

Miss Piggy: Yes.

Rick: She said yes. What happened?

Miss Piggy: The truth is I haven't yet decided if I'm going to the Oscars.

Kermit the Frog: It's true.

Miss Piggy: It's still in negotiations with this man right here.

Kermit: That's actually why Tom is here today. Once we're done talking to you, back to the table.

Tom Sherak: Yeah, Rick, we have a really interesting situation on our hands right now. That is that Miss Piggy is demanding to take home an Oscar and we've said she can touch it and hold it, but she can't take it home.

Miss Piggy: I can touch it?

Tom: Yes you may.

Miss Piggy: Give it!

(Miss Piggy tries to grab the Oscar from Tom's hands)

Kermit: Miss Piggy stop! Stop!

Rick: Maybe she can take home Oscar Mayer.

Kermit: Sorry about that, Rick.

Rick: Well, it's nice to know that hopefully you guys will be presenters. This will be your fifth time at the Oscars Sunday night and, of course, the Muppet movie [The Muppets] rejuvenated your career - would you guys agree to that? What a great movie! Commercially. Critically acclaimed.

Miss Piggy: I think it's more accurate to say that moi rejuvenated the film industry.

Kermit: That's an interesting way of looking at it. That's possible.

Tom: That is an interesting way of looking at it.

Rick: Tom, let me ask you. How exciting is it going to be Sunday - you've got Billy Crystal coming back, you've got a bunch of stars as presenters including Kermit and Miss Piggy - how exciting will it be for folks who will be watching the telecast Sunday evening?

Tom: I think it's going to be a really good show. Billy's back. His ninth time doing this. He's an iconic performer on the Oscars.

Kermit: He is.

Tom: I think it's going to be a lot of fun. He's going to be surrounded by Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Tom Hanks.

Kermit: Tina Fey.

Miss Piggy: Will Ferrell.

Kermit: Zach Gafalanafalogala. [Zach Galifianakis]

Tom: Yes.

Miss Piggy: And Will Ferrell.

Tom: And Will Ferrell and Michael Douglas and Meryl Streep.

Kermit: Meryl Streep!

Tom: Tom Cruise is coming, Miss Piggy.

Miss Piggy: You know Will Ferrell is going to be there, too.

Tom: And so is Tom Cruise.

Miss Piggy: You know, Tommy and I are going to do a movie together.

Rick: Wow.

Miss Piggy: And it's not called Mission Impossible.

Rick: In the short time we have left, Miss Piggy, do you know what you'll be wearing Sunday night because there are reports you will be wearing Oscar Mayer...Oscar de la Renta.

Kermit: [gulp]

Miss Piggy: [silence] You're going to be wearing a hospital gown when I get my hands on you.

Tom: [Laughter]

Miss Piggy: I have a number of dresses that I'm choosing from, but I don't think I'm going to say right now.

Kermit: You're going to hold out?

Miss Piggy: Well, I'm not even sure that I'm going. You'll have to tune in to find out.

Rick: Well, we look forward to it. Your fifth time at the Oscars. Of course, the premiere power couple of Hollywood, welcome back.

Kermit: Thank you. That's nice.

Rick: Thanks for stopping in Philadelphia for a little bit. Take care. See ya guys.

Tom: Thanks Rick.

Kermit: Ok. Bye bye.

Miss Piggy: Ta-ta.
