Bruce Springsteen surprises crowd at NJ benefit show

ASBURY PARK, N.J. (AP) - February 26, 2012

The Asbury Park Press reports that The Boss gave a six-song impromptu performance Saturday night at an Asbury Park nightclub, surprising the crowd of more than 200 people.

It came during a benefit show honoring Tony Strollo, a 40-year-old Tinton Falls resident who died unexpectedly earlier this month, leaving a wife and two daughters.

Strollo ran his own personal training business at the Jersey Shore, and Springsteen listed him as a trainer is his 2008 tour program.

Springsteen and the E Street Band are due to start their world tour on March 18 in Atlanta. --
