Suspect arrested shortly after bank robbery

BEAR, Del. - February 28, 2012

Joseph P. Thomas, 33, of Bear, Delaware, was arrested after the robbery at the PNC Bank in the Eden Square Shopping Center.

Police say it all began around 3:12 p.m. when Thomas entered the bank and gave a teller a note demanding money.

The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, police said, and Thomas allegedly fled the bank.

State troopers responded and, while they were checking the area of Pulaski Highway (U.S. Route 40) and Bear Corbitt Road, they found Thomas in a Ruby Tuesday restaurant where he was arrested.

Thomas was charged with robbery and for wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

He was arraigned and held on $30,000 cash bail.
