Child victims in fatal NJ bus crash improving

BORDENTOWN, N.J. - February 29, 2012

Sophie Tezsla and Jonathan Zdybel, both 11 years old, have been upgraded from critical to stable condition. Further details were not disclosed Wednesday.

The Feb. 16 crash in Chesterfield killed Tezsla's triplet sister, Isabelle, and seriously injured their other sister, Natalie. Natalie was released from the hospital last week. Their father, Anthony Tezsla, is a New Jersey state police sergeant.

Isabelle Tezsla's funeral is scheduled for Friday at a Hamilton Square church.

Twenty-five elementary school students were on the bus when it collided with a dump truck. Seventeen children were injured. Local authorities are awaiting results of toxicology tests on the drivers. The National Transportation Safety Board continues to investigate the crash.
