And that's just a tiny sample of the nearly 900 wedding gowns that will sold at drastically discounted prices this weekend near Wilmington, Del.
The sale will take place in donated ballroom space at the newly opened Sheraton Wilmington South (365 Airport Road in New Castle). And all the proceeds from the sale of the donated gowns benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
Priscilla Rakestraw of the DBCC explains, "We have Maggie Sottero, we have Monique Lhuillier, we have Priscilla of Boston, Vera Wang, it goes on and on. As somebody said. 'From the couture to the non-couture' gowns. And they're beautiful, they're all beautiful gowns
."The gowns range in size from two to 32, and there's just about style imaginable -- from full-skirted, embellished and full-length to those that are less ornate and less formal.
Admission to the sale is free on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
On Friday night, March 2, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., there's a preview sale. Admission to that is $20 for a bride and one guest. To attend, the preview, you much purchase tickets in advance.
