Prison for Pa. woman who faked baby's illness

ALLLENTOWN, Pa. - March 2, 2012

Twenty-three-year-old Arielle Lucinda Poor apologized before being sentenced Friday to 14 to 28 months behind bars for a scheme last year in which she claimed her daughter, Myah, had leukemia and a rare bone marrow disease.

"Baby Myah" had a Facebook fundraising page.

Poor pleaded guilty to theft by deception and receiving stolen property. She is due to give birth to another baby in May.

Northampton County Judge Leonard Zito scams like hers are what cause people to think twice before opening their hearts and wallets to those in real need.

Her attorney Steven Mills said Poor is mentally ill and needs help.
