On the "College Settlement of Philadelphia" in Horsham, 29 year old Paul Canally served as a summer camp counselor for young children.
He was arrested this week in his hometown of Clayton, North Carolina, just outside of Raleigh, and accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old boy.
Canally, a former middle school science teacher is accused of committing more than a dozen sex crimes against the teen between April 2010 and December 2011.
Documents say the two met at school and Canally friended him on Facebook.
"Everybody had a concern over him just the strange mannerisms of a single guy having multiple kids and boys around him," said Mark Forrest.
Police say they also found child pornography on Canally's computer.
Friday, another teenage boy came forward also alleging similar abuse.
Detectives in North Carolina contacted Horsham Police. According to a local lieutenant, they have launched a preliminary investigation, but at this point there have been no reports of criminal activity involving Canally.
During the summer, College Settlement runs day and week-long camps for youth between the ages of 7 to 12, many are bused in from Philadelphia.
Executive Director Frank Gerome didn't return our calls, but sent us a statement.
Investigators believe Canally worked with the camp for several years, but College Settlement says he was only employed last summer, and he had the required background clearance.
"Hopefully people keep in mind that it may have been one sick individual, but the rest of the camp has done great work for a lot of kids for a long period of time," said Brijesh Bodiwala, who is a neighbor and attended the camp as a child.
The Horsham investigation is in its early stages, but detectives would like anyone with any information about Canally to give them a call at 215-643-3600.
