Prisoner escapes police custody at hospital

LOGAN - March 7, 2012

Police say a 19-year-old prisoner managed to escape from the emergency area of Albert Einstein Medical Center shortly before 7:00 p.m.

The prisoner, whose criminal history includes burglary and theft, got away in a car with the help of others believed to friends or family members, according to authorities.

Police say the car was a black Dodge caravan bearing Pennsylvania tags.

There is no word on why the prisoner was in custody or why he was at the hospital.
