Military hardware goes up for sale; Pa. construction jobs climb in Pa.; Plus, McDonald's is doing a major remodel.

Military Auction
For those not primarily concerned with gas prices, there was quite a car sale in New Castle, Delaware today. The Truck Center auctioned off more than 70 military vehicles today; Everything from 5-ton cargo trucks to tractor-trailers. The vehicles were up for bid because they were all deemed too old for combat for too good to throw away. Now the question facing their new owners is where to put them?

Construction Jobs in Pa.
Guess which state added the most construction jobs from January 2011 to January 2012? It was Pennsylvania. According to the Associated General Contractors of America, the Keystone State added 13,000 jobs during that time which was an increase of 6% and the mild winter didn't hurt either.

McDonald's Makeovers
McDonald's is planning a major makeover, remodeling 800 stores and making more of them stay open 24 hours. Now, about 40% of them are open around the clock. Plus, McDonald's says it may launch more espresso drinks. The fast food chain says it's actually benefiting from higher prices at the grocery store as people look for cheaper food.

Bank of America makes $20,000 donation
This is the very big check given to a very deserving local organization today. Bank of America presented that $20,000 to ACHIEVEability, a non-profit working to break the cycle of poverty for single parent, low-income families. ACHIEVEability will use the funding to provide housing and supportive services so single parents can pursue higher education and become self-sufficient.
