Even though the suspect was hit in the chest, he kept driving more than a mile to his house.
That's where police say the suspect, 31-year-old Rodney Hojnowski, got out of his vehicle and collapsed.
He was rushed by ambulance to Reading Hospital in critical condition.
Police were waiting for him to improve before filing charges.
He's been wanted for two weeks on a parole violation.
