The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at a home on the 1400 block of Robinson Avenue in Haverford Township.
According to police, a 3-year-old boy was jumping up and down on a bed when he took a bad fall.
His cheek came in contact with a pointed hinge of a dresser.
The hinge went through his cheek and rescue crews had to cut the hinge from the dresser.
Officials airlifted the boy with the hinge still in his cheek onboard a medical helicopter to CHOP.
Authorities say the boy is not in any danger.
Medics say the child is in stable condition.
