SEPTA train derails, causing delays

CENTER CITY - March 23, 2012

It happened at 10:00 a.m. Friday between Suburban and 30th Street Stations.

SEPTA tells Action News that the train was crossing tracks when the wheels lost contact with the rails.

60-70 passengers were on board. Two passengers and two crew members were complained of minor pain, but no serious injuries were reported.

SEPTA says work on the affected train was expected to continue through Friday afternoon. As a result, all regional rails will be running with 15-minute delays through the Friday evening rush hour.
