It's all about doing some important gardening with first lady Michelle Obama.
Students at Stetser Elementary School took advantage of the nice weather to get back to work on their garden.
Joining them this year were two former students; the very students who started the garden last year.
"We started working together with concerns and one of the concerns was lunch," said former student Romesha Harrison.
Inspired by Michelle Obama's healthy eating initiative, Romesha Harrison and Nahmirah Ishmail helped start the garden.
The fruits and vegetables they grew were served during lunch. It is the kind of food they don't normally have access to.
"There are not very many grocery stores right in Chester, and there's not a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables," said Janet Baldwin, Principal.
The students decided to write the first lady a letter.
"I was excited, but at the same time, I didn't think that she would actually write back," said Namirah Ishmail. "I never thought she'd take the time out of her busy schedule to meet me."
To their surprise, the White House not only wrote back thanking them for joining the cause and making a difference in their community, they invited them and three other Stetser students to join children from across the country to help the first lady in the historic garden Eleanor Roosevelt first started.
"It makes me proud to see that I made this happen," said Nahmirah.
"I would just tell her that I'm excited to have the privilege to just meet her, to spend the day with her, to help her out," said Romesha. "We have the responsibility of carrying forth that message."
