Family wants daughter's killer brought to justice

PHILADELPHIA - March 24, 2012

"She was a very loving and caring person. She would do anything for her friends, her family if they asked her. She was just a good person," said Denise Greenwalt.

Jocelyn Deaver's family is still struggling with the loss of their daughter.

"It's very hard, very hard, we don't have any answers. It's a struggle every day," said Denise.

The 21-year-old was outside on the 3200 block of "H" Street in the Kensington section of Philadelphia on Tuesday August 2nd. Police say Deaver was shot in the head just after 4:00am. She died at the scene.

"Nobody deserves to die the way she did.

"I'm sure that there is someone out there that has information; any information at all, where she was that night, who she was with," said Mark Greenwalt.

Authorities say anything can help move this investigation forward.

"4:15 early morning hours, you hear a gunshot maybe you look out the window, you hear an argument or you see a car, that's the information we're looking for," said John Apeldorn of the Citizens Crime Commission.

There is a $3,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

"I just miss her a lot," said Denise.
