Now that's a big snake

WASHINGTON (AP) - March 29, 2012

A prehistoric snake the length of a school bus is going on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.

The National Museum of Natural History is opening an exhibit that features a life-size replica of a Titanoboa tomorrow.

The fossil of the world's largest snake was found several years ago in a coal mine in Colombia.

When it was alive, the snake weighed 2,500 pounds and was 48 feet long.

It lived about 60 million years ago.
