A spokeswoman for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority released a statement saying the two sides met for several hours on Thursday.
However, SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams says no agreement has been reached, and no further talks have been scheduled.
About 200 transit police officers have been on strike since March 21 over a wage increase. They have been working without a contract for about a year.
In their absence, city police, transit police supervisors and private security companies are being deployed to patrol the system's subways, trains, buses and trolleys.
A spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Transit Police could not immediately be reached for comment.
