Romney rivals split on whether to ever back him

WASHINGTON - April 1, 2012

Ron Paul says he hasn't decided what position he'll take come summer, when the nominee will presumably be decided. Paul says his policies on the Afghan war and the economy are so different from Romney's.

Newt Gingrich says he'd have no choice but to embrace Romney - whom he once called a "liar" - because Romney would still be a "dramatically better president" than President Barack Obama.

Rick Santorum says he's still focused on beating Romney, whom he accuses of leading a negative attack campaign.

Paul and Gingrich spoke on CBS' "Face the Nation." Santorum was on "Fox News Sunday" and NBC's "Meet the Press."
