Jersey shore town considers early last call

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. - April 4, 2012

The Point Pleasant Beach Council in March narrowly approved the ordinance. Bars and restaurants would be permitted to serve until 2 a.m. if they pay a fee based on occupancy.

Two of the beach town's biggest businesses, Jenkinson's and Martell's Tiki Bar, have threatened to challenge the ordinance.

Attorney Ron Gasiorowski, who represents the businesses, tells the Asbury Park Press the ordinance as proposed is being discussed.
