Puppies killed in fire at Bucks Co. home

CROYDON, Pa. - April 13, 2012

The fire was reported at 5:40 a.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Maple Avenue.

It apparently started in the basement and quickly spread into the first floor of the home.

Authorities on the scene say the homeowner is a dog breeder. The mother of the puppies that were killed was rescued, though there was no immediate word on that dog's condition.

No other injuries were reported in this fire.

There was no immediate word on how this fire started.
