Police say the accident involving four vehicles happened at 2:45 p.m. Friday.
So far there is no word what caused the collision, but the accident shut down all eastbound lanes of the expressway for nearly an hour.
Montgomery County Radio officials tell Action News two people were taken to Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Westbound traffic was also backed up in the area as crews worked to clear the scene.
The eastbound lanes were reopened at 3:33 p.m .
