The FCC says, in a report from Friday, that Google Inc. deliberately impeded and delayed the investigation. It says the company did this by not responding to requests for information and documents.
The FCC also says that it subpoenaed a Google engineer who developed the software code the company used to collect and store data. The engineer, who is not named in the report, declined to testify, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.
In a statement, Mountain View, Calif.-based Google says it disagrees with the FCC's characterization of its cooperation with the investigation. Google also says it will be filing a response.
