The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Spring Valley Road.
The victim managed to walk to nearby Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital to be treated.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was last reported to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, police say they found a number of shell casings at the crime scene.
Officers are investigating reports that wo men were seen fleeing the area.
