The Union County Prosecutor's Office says the victim was stabbed near 38 Watchung Avenue in Plainfield on Tuesday evening and the man died at a hospital. Officials are still trying to identify the victim.
Police located the vehicle that the teenager was riding in and arrested him on Wednesday. His name has not been released because of his age.
The boy is being held at the Union County Juvenile Detention Center.
