Philadelphia police release video of shooting

PHILADELPHIA - April 19, 2012

The incident happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday at a Chinese food store at 5939 Ogontz Avenue.

Police say an unknown man approached the victims as they were leaving and forced them back into the store, demanding they empty their pockets.

After taking their money, the man fires a shot into the store. In the surveillance video, it appears one man is hit by the gunfire as he stumbles and collapses to the ground.

The gunman then runs from the store but, for an unknown reason, he stops and turns around, coming back to fire four to five more shots into the store as he passes by, hitting another person.

The gunman then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Both shooting victims are seen on the video leaving on their own power. Police say they want to find them not only to aid in the investigation, but also to make sure they received proper medical care.

The suspect is described as a black male standing approximately 5'9" tall with a thin build and wearing a black leather jacket.
