The crash happened on the ramp at the interchange for the Schuylkill Expressway at 30th Street in West Philadelphia.
Police say the 25-year-old woman driver lost control and hit the wall at the ramp, setting the car on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
Both the woman and the child only suffered minor injuries.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash as a possible DUI.
