Her arrest on Thursday came exactly 13 years after the shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado that changed the way the nation views school threats.
The Ridley Township Police Department wasted little time making the arrest.
"We responded to the school and we took her into custody, per our policy of zero-tolerance with the school as well as the police department's zero-tolerance policy," said Detective Lieutenant Scott Willoughby
It all started earlier in the week when police say the girl posted a disturbing message on her Facebook page.
The post allegedly said, "When I Columbine this school there won't be any more laughs, just screams and gunshots. Keep testing me and I'll murder myself afterward so the cops can't get to me."
Willoughby says the tragic thing about this case is that police believe the suspect was simply a young woman who had reached her wit's end.
"She stated to us that she was being bullied in the school, and I think that is was what made her post this on Facebook. She also said that she was trying to scare the people who were bullying her," said Willoughby.
We spoke about this case with students and parents outside Ridley High School. A few told us it seemed like the victim was arrested this time.
But most of those we interviewed say local authorities simply had no other choice.
"I think what they did was fine. They did what they had to do and took her out of school, arrested her," said sophomore Molly Gioffre.
"I am fine with that, just because we have to think of the greater good and I want to make sure my students and my child are protected in that high school. So it's better to take that child and investigate," said parent Linda O'Kane.
"Nobody was hurt or injured in any way, and they got to her pretty quickly and they were able to handle it pretty safely," said Sarah McIntosh,16.
The girl is being held at a juvenile detention facility. She is charged with making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment.
