April 22, 2012

In the west, forecasters say the storm could bring 8 to 12 inches of snow to higher elevations in Fayette, Westmoreland, Indiana and Jefferson counties and three to four inches in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

Meteorologists predict the storm's biggest threat is likely power outages caused by falling trees and limbs bringing down power lines.

Forecasters say two to three or even four inches of rain will be coming to parts of eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey on Sunday evening through early Monday.

The National Weather Service says some local flooding is possible along smaller rivers and creeks. A flood watch and wind advisory has also been issued.

The lack of rain in the Delaware Valley has left Philadelphia with a drought of more than six inches and more than seven inches in parts of Delaware.
