Patricia Beeson, provost and senior vice chancellor, said in a letter Sunday to students, faculty and staff that final exams this week will be administered only in five Oakland Campus buildings that will be swept for explosives before each exam day.
Only those with valid Pitt identification cards will be allowed in and bags will be checked. In the event of a threat, the buildings will be evacuated only if "an imminent threat" is determined.
Increased security is also planned at residence halls.
There have been dozens of bomb threats since mid-February, including a number on Saturday.
