Az. woman admits Fen-Phen fraud in Pa.

PHILADELPHIA - April 27, 2012

Dee Lynn Andrews pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted mail and wire fraud in connection with claims she brought in Pennsylvania and New Jersey against drug-maker Wyeth.

Federal prosecutors say Andrews settled an initial lawsuit in Florida in January 2001 for $200,000 and signed a release promising not to bring more claims. But authorities say she used multiple aliases to bring other claims through a variety of lawyers.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports a plea memo says the total intended loss from a trio of suits Andrews brought was $165,000.

Sentencing is scheduled for August.
