It happened shortly before 9:30 Saturday night on the 5300 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Police are not releasing many details on the crash. Initial reports indicate that one person was struck and the driver of the striking vehicle did remain on the scene.
The victim was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center in critical condition.
Heavy damage was also visible on the windshield of the car.
No word what sparked the accident.
