Driver killed in I-295 crash, passenger critical

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - May 15, 2012

Joshua Lampden, 29, of Westwood, was killed in the wreck around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say Lampden was driving his 2007 Infiniti when he lost control and struck a guardrail.

The vehicle flipped over the guardrail and landed in the northbound lanes, police said. Lampden was ejected from the vehicle.

He was flown to the hospital but pronounced dead.

His passenger, 21-year-old Matthew Cassel of Indiana, was also injured in the crash. He was listed in critical but stable condition.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but investigators believe Lampden may have been speeding.
