Police seek witnesses to crash that killed elderly woman

WEST WHITELAND TWP., Pa. - May 17, 2012

The crash happened at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 100 and Commerce Drive.

According to investigators, a Nissan Maxima operated by 81-year-old Annamarie Durso collided with a Volkswagen Passat. The Nissan then struck a FedEx Ground truck before hitting a traffic light pole on the concrete median portion of the highway.

Durso, of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital where she later died.

45-year-old David DeVito of New Hope was behind the wheel of the Passat. He too was transported to Paoli Memorial Hospital, but was treated for his injuries and released.

The driver of the FedEx truck, Goran Jokanovic, was not injured and was able to drive his vehicle safely from the scene.

Investigators say a witness reported seeing the Nissan Maxima hit a white vehicle in the northbound lanes of Route 100, in the area of the westbound Route 30 Bypass on-ramp, just minutes before the fatal crash. Police think the other vehicle may have lost control and ended up on the ramp, and then left the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information on the accident to call 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100.
