Flames were first reported at 12:40 p.m. coming from the basement of a home in the 700 block of 6th Street.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the home. They quickly determined no one was home.
Within 15 minutes of the firefighters' arrival, flames were shooting through the roof. Firefighters were evacuated from the building.
The fire soon spread to two adjacent homes and a second alarm was struck at 1:25 p.m.
Crews had the upper hand by 1:45 p.m. but remained on the scene hosing down hot spots.
No one was injured. Investigators are working to determine the cause.
