Philadelphia City Council has begun asking this question, "How can we get more women in positions of power at local companies?"

Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown launched public hearings Tuesday with some prominent area business women to try to turn around what she calls a disappointing trend. You can read the Resolution introduced by Philadelphia Councilwoman Brown by following this link.

In Philadelphia, women hold just 10% of executive board seats, compared to 16% nationally.

Councilwoman Reynolds Brown is the only woman to win an at-large council seat since 1999.
