It happened before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 322 near Clayton Park Drive in Garnet Valley.
Police say the dump truck collided with a minivan.
Images from Chopper 6 HD showed a large rescue effort underway to free a person from the dump truck, which left the road and ended up in a wooded area.
The person was taken on a stretcher to a waiting rescue vehicle.
There is no word yet on that person's condition.
Route 322 was shut down in both directions as crews worked to clear the scene.
