The victim told police that the he was shot around 2:00 a.m. nearby the Tiger Mart, located at the Exxon gas station on the 1300 block of Admiral Wilson Boulevard.
After being shot, the man ran from the market for help and was eventually able to call 9-1-1.
The victim, said to be in his 20s, was rushed to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
So far, there is no word on suspects or a motive.
